PM Ben Chifley and grandfather 1946

In 1946, my paternal grandfather, Eric Harding OBE MM, was President of the Limbless Soldiers Association of Australia. He was severely wounded under artillery fire in northern France during WWI, and had to have a leg amputated.

As the caption on the cartoon says, the then Prime Minister of Australia, Ben Chifley presented the first post-war Ford V8 car produced in Australia to my grandfather on behalf of the  Limbless Soldiers Association, to be used to transport limbless soldiers around.
